We have completed updating our popular Virtual Hawaii Tour. We have added some new images and we have made some significant changes to provide better images as well as adding pertinent information about each location. Additionally, we have provided links to current local weather and surf conditions and other sites of interest to Hawaii’s visitors and residents.
MORE, HIGHER QUALITY IMAGES
We began by going back to the original image files and re-mastering each of our panoramas using our latest proprietary techniques. The computer enhanced images are significantly brighter, cleaner, clearer and sharper, with optimal contrast and saturation. You may also notice that we have added several new locations such as Papaa Bay and the Fern Grotto. The Hawaii tour now includes over 300 images.
USEFUL, CONTEXTUAL INFORMATION
To every image, we’ve added quite a bit of relevant, useful information… for the visitor and resident alike. Every image now has a unique descriptive paragraph, providing significant information about the location. And each panoramic image also now has a relevant caution. In additional, each panorama has up to 8 context-sensitive icons describing conditions for water activities, restroom and lifeguard availability, child-friendly locations and general visitor safety. Selecting these icons offers concise information with links to current surf and weather conditions and other websites of interest to the viewer.
NEW LYDGATE PARK SECTION (KAUAI)
The section on Lydgate Park has been expanded significantly, featuring 11 new images and its own animated navigation map. This section reflects the County’s ongoing project to create a world-class community park on our island. Stay tuned for future enhancements to this section. Click on the red balloon labeled L.
IMPROVED NAPALI STATE PARK SECTION (KAUAI)
By adding the unique descriptive paragraphs to each and every panoramic image, we have created a powerful guide for hiking and camping in the Na Pali State Park. Utilizing intimate trail information from hikers with over 25 years of hiking the Na Pali, this section is a must see, for anyone planning a day hike to Hanakapaia Beach or a longer excursion into the Kalalau Valley. NEW ELEGANT INTERFACE
Our new user interface has been significantly streamlined to increase the ease of viewing. The long listing of places has been replaced by easy-to read large-font, roll-overs so the viewer can quickly choose by location and not be overwhelmed by textual information. The visual design was simplified and the colors toned down so that the interface doesn’t compete with the luscious content. From a functional standpoint, viewing the panoramas is much simpler. We have eliminated the pop-up images and have integrated the panoramas into the main program allowing users to quickly go back and forth between panorama and map.
The viewer now has the choice of 5 original compositions of Hawaiian music. These songs were produced by a local musician here on Kauai. Select one of the 5 numbered balloons in the lower left corner to hear these compositions.
We have redesigned the Virtual Hawaii Tour expressly to be private labeled. All of our logos have been removed, so now adding your business location genuinely brands the tour as your own. Also, now by clicking on the rotating star, a new page opens up a Google map of your business. This feature provides your viewer with virtually all of your business information that is available on the web. SAMPLE
